CHART MBR / SEC 60 / PRICING

Pricing

Three prices, published, with the reasoning attached. If a supplier will not put a number on a page, the number is usually decided by what they think you will pay.

The tide ladder

What things cost

AI Visibility Sprint £400 FIXED

Seven days. A dated baseline across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, five fixes shipped to your site rather than recommended, and a written re-check date. One fee, agreed before work starts.

Ongoing retainer from £600 / month FIXED

Technical health, query research, page structure and content, and the same monthly measurement in the same format. No setup fee, no minimum term, one month notice either way. The figure for your site is quoted in writing first.

Advisory hour £100 / hour FIXED

For work that fits neither of the above: reviewing another supplier's proposal, sitting in on a selection process, or a second opinion on a plan you already have. Billed in blocks agreed in advance.

Every figure here is one of my own prices, which is what FIXED means. None of them is an average, a market rate, or an estimate of what you might earn back.

Why the ladder is shaped this way

Two depths, printed

A chart prints the depth because a pilot needs the number before entering the channel. The £400 Sprint is the first sounding. Spending it answers a question rather than opening a commitment.

The Sprint is priced to be an easy decision and scoped so that it ends. £600 per month is the floor for the passage that follows it. Sustained search work is sustained.

One burst of activity followed by nothing is how most SEO budgets are wasted. The advisory hour covers the passage you are already on. Sometimes the useful thing I can do is read another supplier's proposal and tell you whether it is reasonable.

On value claims

What I am not going to tell you

I will not put a return on investment figure on this page. I do not know your margins, your conversion rate, or your contract values, so any multiple I published would be decoration.

I will not claim a payback period. That depends on your sector's competitiveness and your starting position, neither of which is knowable before the work begins.

What I will do is tell you honestly, after the Sprint, whether I think the retainer is worth it for your specific situation. Sometimes the answer is no.

Questions about price

Frequently asked questions

Why is the retainer a floor rather than a fixed price?

Because the work genuinely differs between a ten page site in one sector and a two hundred page site covering four. £600 per month is the point below which I cannot do work I would be willing to put my name to. The actual figure for your site is quoted in writing before anything starts and does not move without a written change.

Is there a setup fee or a minimum term?

No to both. There is no onboarding charge, no contract length, and notice is one month in either direction. A minimum term mostly protects the supplier from the consequences of underdelivering, and I would rather be kept because the work is working.

What is not included in the retainer?

Paid advertising management, website rebuilds, graphic design, and third party costs such as hosting or tooling licences. If a piece of work sits outside scope I will say so and quote it separately rather than quietly absorbing it and doing less of the actual SEO.

Do you charge by the hour for anything?

Only for one-off advisory work that does not fit either the Sprint or a retainer, such as reviewing another agency's proposal or sitting in on a supplier selection. That is £100 per hour, billed in written blocks agreed in advance.

Why are your prices lower than the agencies quoting several thousand a month?

Because there is one person here and almost no overhead. There is no account manager layer, no office, and no sales team whose salary is inside your invoice. The honest trade off is capacity: I take on a small number of clients, and if I am full I will tell you rather than take the money and stretch.

Where to start

Weighing up the retainer is a reason to do the Sprint first. It costs less and it tells us both whether the retainer is justified.
