CHART MBR / SEC 10 / SEO SERVICES

SEO services for Middlesbrough firms

Search work for Teesside businesses, in four parts: fix what stops pages being read, find out what buyers actually type, build the pages that answer it, and measure the same way every month.

Scope

What the monthly retainer covers

£600

Monthly floor for ongoing search and AI visibility work.

FIXED
4

Standing workstreams: technical, research, content, measurement.

FIXED
0

Minimum term. Notice is one month, either direction.

FIXED

Every figure above is one of my own prices or commitments. That is what the FIXED tag means. Nothing here is a projection of your results.

The method, in order

How the work runs

The order matters. Content built on a site Google cannot crawl properly is wasted effort. The technical sounding therefore comes first.

  1. Technical sounding

    WEEK 01

Find what stops the page being read at all.

Crawl and index coverage, page speed on a real connection, mobile rendering, redirect chains, duplicate URLs, and whether your key pages are actually in Google's index. This is unglamorous and it is where most of the recoverable ground sits. A page that cannot be crawled cannot rank however good the copy is.

  2. Query research

    WEEK 02

    Establish what buyers really type.

I map your actual capabilities to the phrasing buyers use rather than the phrasing the marketing site uses. A fabricator may describe itself as offering bespoke metalwork solutions while its buyers search for specific processes, materials and standards. The gap between those two vocabularies is usually the whole opportunity.

  3. Structure and content

    ONGOING

One page per thing you actually sell.

A single page covering several distinct services leaves each of them ranking for nothing. Splitting them out, giving each a page with real specification detail, and linking them sensibly is the bulk of the ongoing work.

  4. Measurement

    MONTHLY

Same figures, same format, every month.

Search Console positions and clicks, the pages that moved, what shipped that month, and what is queued next. Comparable month to month by design. A bad month is as visible as a good one.

Why industrial sites underperform

The specific problem with Teesside industrial sites

A recurring pattern in process, chemical and engineering firms: the website was built to look credible to someone who already knows the company. It works as a brochure for existing relationships and does almost nothing for discovery.

The tell is usually a single services page listing eight capabilities in a bulleted block. Google has nothing to rank for any one of them because none has a page of its own.

The second tell is that the genuinely useful material, the approvals, the material specifications, the sector experience, sits inside a downloadable PDF capability statement. That content is often the strongest asset the firm has. In that format it is invisible to both search engines and AI assistants.

Neither problem needs a rebuild. Each problem needs the existing substance moved onto real, indexable pages, one per thing you actually sell.

Evidence, with its limits stated

What this looks like on a site I run myself

This site has no client testimonials and no client names. I am not willing to publish either without permission I do not have. What I can show is my own portfolio, labelled by sector.

Google clicks per month

Sector B, EV charging

SOURCED Google Search Console. Pulled 20 July 2026.

Eight clicks in April, 767 in the first eighteen days of July, on the same site with no ad spend.

This is a site in my own portfolio, labelled by sector and never by name, not a client engagement. Partial months are drawn at their true value, never projected. Results vary by sector, starting position and competition.

Google impressions per month

Sector A, health and wellness

SOURCED Google Search Console. Pulled 20 July 2026.

Impressions are the pipeline that clicks come out of. That is why they are worth watching first.

This is a site in my own portfolio, labelled by sector and never by name, not a client engagement. Partial months are drawn at their true value, never projected. Results vary by sector, starting position and competition.

Google clicks per month, including the May dip

Sector A, health and wellness

SOURCED Google Search Console. Pulled 20 July 2026.

May fell from 174 clicks to 104 before June recovered to 476. That dip is shown because hiding it would make the chart a sales tool rather than a measurement.

This is a site in my own portfolio, labelled by sector and never by name, not a client engagement. Partial months are drawn at their true value, never projected. Results vary by sector, starting position and competition.

Read the limits carefully. These are sites I own and run, in unrelated sectors, not Middlesbrough industrial clients. They show the method produces movement on sites I control end to end.

They are not a prediction of what your site will do. No honest reading of them supports one.

Questions asked before hiring

Frequently asked questions

How long before SEO work shows in enquiries?

Technical fixes can register with Google within days of a recrawl. New or rewritten pages competing for real commercial queries take longer because they have to accumulate the signals that rank them. I report on a fixed monthly cycle so you see the direction rather than waiting for a single verdict.

Do you write the technical content, or does my engineering team?

The split is deliberate. I structure the page, research the queries and draft it. Your engineers correct the specifics because I am not going to invent tolerances, approvals or process detail.

My site was built by an agency years ago. Does it need rebuilding?

Usually not. Sites I look at typically have sound enough foundations and a structure problem: capabilities buried in a PDF, one thin services page covering six distinct offerings, and no page that matches what buyers actually search. Restructuring what exists is cheaper and faster than a rebuild.

Do you work with businesses that sell to other businesses rather than the public?

That is most of the work here. Teesside runs on industrial and technical supply chains where the buyer is typically a procurement lead, engineer or contracts manager. Their searches are specific, low in volume and high in value, and that changes the whole approach.

What happens if the work is not producing results?

You see it in the monthly measurement because it uses the same figures in the same format every time. No minimum term is dressed up as a partnership here. If the numbers are flat and I cannot give you a straight explanation and a changed plan, ending it is a reasonable decision.

Where to start

Engagements here usually begin with the Sprint rather than the retainer. Finding out where you stand is cheaper than assuming it.
